Material description
Silver steel is an obsolete term for steels with the material number 1.2210, alloyed with chromium and vanadium (115CrV3).
Despite its high edge retention, 1.2210 has high toughness, making it particularly suitable for the production of cutting tools that are not subjected to high heat (cold-work steel). The desired final hardness can be easily achieved through appropriate tempering.
